scrappy races rally (2005)
RDF Media for Channel 4 – 5 x 60 mins

Scrappy Races Rally, a spin-off from Channel Four’s successful Scrapheap Challenge, used the Galloway Forest Park as its primary filming location in September 2005.

Filming Scrappy Races Rally Shooting over a four week period, the series was based around the ‘Raider’s Road’, a ten mile stretch of forestry track running through the Galloway Forest Park, near New Galloway.

The Rally pits four teams against each other, each starting off with a different vehicle.

Each ’stage’ of the rally requires the teams to modify their vehicle to undertake two challenges e.g. tree-felling, boulder-rolling or vehicle recovery and the event was timed, from the beginning of the build to the completion of the challenges, and the team with the fastest time across all five stages will win the rally.

The show was presented by those two stalwarts of Scrapheap Challenge, Robert Llewellyn and Lisa Rogers.
